Autorul acestei carti, Aldous Mina are o bogata experinta in domeniul afacerilor internationale.

Aldous Mina: Sunt absolvent al Liberty University in Central Virginia, specializat in afaceri internationale.

Reporter: Cum a ajuns sa fie consultant de afaceri in Romania?

Aldous Mina: Dupa cum spus, am inceput sa lucrez in Romania ca voluntar in dezvoltarea institutionala si economica, in cadrul organizatiei Corpul Pacii al Natiunilor Unite.

Reporter: Ce parere are despre situatia economica a tarii noastre?

Reporter: De ce considerati ca faceconomics reprezenta new normal for many economie?

Aldous Mina: In mod absolut, faceconomics este utilizat peste tot in lume de persoane ce nu realizeaza ca astfel ei creaza oportunitati de piata in spatiul lor local si sfera pietii internationale.

Reporter: Chiar primul cap foloseste ca si expresie …Please enter your email adress and password…De unde ideea?

In mod similar, “Parola” este o metafora in a “trece” in pietele globale, accesezi un produs sau serviciu trecand granita. In faceconomics au disparut multe tari. Fiecae capitol reprezinta o metafora in a debloca globalizarea pietii din spatiul social media.

Reporter: In carte se vorbeste si despre tendintele actuale ale pietei…cat de puternice sunt aceste platforme sociale in domeniul economic?

Aldous Mina: Sunt folosite in scara mare la nivel international.

We did a short interview with the author, now with the close event of having him present in Iasi.

Reporter: Who is Aldous Mina? Why in Romania, directly from Washington?

Aldous Mina: I am a Liberty University alumni in Central Virginia and majored in international business. While there, I founded the first International Business Council (IBC) under the school of business and government. The IBC participated in various Foreign Embassy collaborations in Washington D.C. and explored national development in the banking, import/export, global marketing, expatriate sector and global economic integration. In November 2007, I was nominated to work with the United States Peace Corps as an institutional development volunteer and was invited by the Romanian government to live in Romania for 27 months in December 2007.

Reporter: How did you manage to become a business consultant in Romania?

Aldous Mina: As I said, I started working in Romania as an institutional and economic development volunteer under the US Peace Corps. After my tour ended, I stayed in the country and worked as a consultant to multinational organizations and also, to local businesses. I have collaborated with the Chamber of Commerce in Romania as well. In May 2008, I supported development efforts in Iasi, Romania in the institutional development sector as well as economic development initiatives in the city of Iasi.

Reporter: What is your opinion on the economic situation of our country?

Aldous Mina: There is a lot of potential in economic development in Romania. I see the economic condition of the country improving and more foreign investment looking into Eastern Europe as the next investment destination in Europe.

Reporter: What are the strategies applied in other countries for the economical development, which might suit Romania’s situation?

Aldous Mina: There are many mechanisms that can be implemented in economic development in Romania. Countries tend to vary in economic environment, but overall, I believe that it is in the best interest of Romania to collaborate with foreign consultants. This adds value to the strategy of attracting foreigners to consider Romania as a competitive market for investment as well as a favorable destination for expats worldwide. I have several market entry strategies in mind but I feel we need to focus on long term strategy implementation. We can discuss this further as we continue to develop material to publish.

Reporter: You founded the first international forum for economic development? What would be the advantages of this?

Aldous Mina: The purpose of the first economic development forum in Iasi, was to engage the local citizens to understand the globalization of markets and have them want to participate in creating investment opportunities in Romania. It also facilitated a platform to showcase the potential investment from abroad and opportunities present in the globalization of markets.

Reporter: Did you manage to attract foreign investors in Iasi through this project?

Aldous Mina: We manage to meet our objectives which were to showcase Romania’s potential in market entry and engage the local citizens to participate in economic development in Iasi.

Reporter: What is Faceconomics, for I know that you’ve developed a theory about it in your book with the similar name?

Aldous Mina: It is a theory first conceived in 2006 and developed into a book project in 2010. It is an example of the ultimate multiplier effect. It consists of various demographics of users engaging the world community to expand on business, cultural, social, political, and in an international platform focusing on the globalization of markets.

Reporter: Why do you think faceconomics would be something normal for many economies?

Aldous Mina: Absolutely, faceconomics is all over the world being utilized by people worldwide without fully understanding that they are creating market opportunities in their local and international market sphere.

Reporter: Even the very first chapter uses a phrase: “Please enter your email address and password” … Where from the idea?

Aldous Mina: When you enter your “email address”, it represents your willingness to share your contact information, openness to engage, openness to learn, openness to understand, and most importantly openness to get on the other side. This is symbolic because changes happen when you are open to opportunities. Similarly, “Password” is a methophore to “pass” in the global markets you pass a product and service by crossing a border. In faceconomics the borders have disappeared in many countries. Each chapter represents is a metaphor to unlocking the globalization of market within the social media realm.

Reporter: The book talks also about the current market trends; how strong are these social platforms in the economic domain?

Aldous Mina: It is widely used worldwide. It is speeding up the process in economic development and market entry to emerging and develop markets alike.

Reporter: Any advice for the young entrepreneurs or students who wish to enter the business world?

Aldous Mina: Yes, Think global, act global and be global. Do not focus on non issues. I understand this might be confusing to some, but we will write about this subject on our next interview.
